Just picked up my Ruger super blackhawk in 44 mag. I slugged the cylinders to get size for cast bullets. My cylinder throats are .4315. I was wondering if this is about average for the SBH. and if this is the case will .432 dia. bullets work?

If your measurements are accurate, your throats should be just about perfect. Ruger BH bores tend to run very close to .4295" so that should make a good combination for accuracy with .432" bullets.

You still have the bullet hardness issue to deal with. If your chamber pressure doesn't match lead bullet hardness, accuracy will be poor and you will get excessive fouling. Most cast bullets are way too hard. See: http://www.lasc.us/FryxellCommentsCBAlloys.htm

Thanks Iowegan- I was planning on ordering some beartooth bullets in the Keith style until I can get a bullet mold and get some casting time in. That is a good link you provided also.
