Hey,

I watched the Ruger video in their "Tech Tips" section dealing with cleaning 10/22s.

It's a generic video for all 10/22s and not specific for TD rifles.

It says to remove the barrel band in this video.

What I'm wondering is, is there any point in removing the barrel band on a TD or should that step be skipped since the barrel is so accessible when the TD is taken down? I don't think there is but you never know.

And any other tips/tricks on cleaning/lubing the TD will be appreciated.

Thanks

No point in removing the barrel band to clean the bore on a TD.
+1 on that. only other thing that's different (about mine at least) is that my TD seems to "grit up" more than my regular 10/22 carbine. i try to be more sparing on the oil and wiping it clean when finishing up. i've been running the same ammo through both and the TD just seems to gunk up a bit quicker. don't know why, but there it is....
