I ordered a Blackhawk Flattop Stainless in .44SP and it is featured as a Talo. What makes it Exclusive...finish, barrel length, caliber? Always wanted a flattop and this came along at very attractive price...Talo or not!

It's a contract gun made for the distributor. Ruger makes them for TALO and Lipsey's . Most other manufacturers do the same. It's sales driven.

The only thing special about the distributor specials is they are configured different than the standard factory offerings. Same guns. Different finishes, sights, barrel lengths, etc. Ruger won't build the gun in unique configurations hoping they'll sell 10,000 of them but they will contract with a distributor to build 2500 of them prepaid. The distributor then sells essentially a stock gun at a slight premium. Everybody wins. Ruger sells 2500 guns, the distributor makes a bit more than they would on a stock gun and the customer gets something slightly unique or better suited to their needs.
