Local radio show? That format has been everywhere for a long time on FM. Back in the 1980s, from Tampa Florida, there was the "Ron and Ron" show. They eventually went syndicated, and them one of the guys flamed out as a big time drug addict. The other one is still around on Satellite Radio. I listen to NPR in the mornings.

They used to be on a local station here in the morning, not now. Sometimes they were hilarious. That one commercial about the bait and tackle shop was great.

Back through most of the 1990s, I would make it a point to never miss their show. Their comedy bits and recurring characters were hilarious. However, over the years, their studio has gotten more and more crowded with their assorted pals...their "entourage", I guess. After a while, it quit being "John Boy and Billy" and became "John Boy, Billy, and Friends". They lost me shortly thereafter.

Ever hear of Ray and Lamn? In the 70s they used to broadcast from Klaz which I think was Littlerock.

In 76 they did a bit called "Ode to a Politician" with background music from the film "The Sting".

I worked in Charlotte for 4 years and listened to them often.
Now that I live North of the Mason Dixon I listen to Bob and Tom more or less the same but quite often they have comedian guests that are very funny, Heywood Banks is my favorite
PS Last week I just figured out Earl Pitts was out of Ohio

Sort of local radio rant

Right now it sucks, sort of. If I am headed to work, post 6:00AM pre 10:00AM, I move from one reception area to another, PGH market to YNG market. The PGH market was KING for a long time, then they broke up the morning team and are bringing in developing talent (local comedians) to fill the slot they vacated. A second option is full time conservative talk, they won't have anything to gripe about after the election, I'm sure they will find something.

As I drive further north, signal fads out and then I have to switch over to YNG stations. There was one duo that sufficed for the commute, then the DJ of the team got caught with kiddy porn and now he is off to the state pen doing time. Rather than find a replacement for him, they torpedoed the whole time slot and brought in a syndicated broadcast, FREE BEER AND HOT WINGS. Hands down the absolute worst excuse for a morning show team that I recall ever hearing. I think they have been on the local air about 2 years, I am yet to even crack a smile at anything they have said, created or reviewed. Just awful. And I have not found anything to replace that steaming pile of poo. I suppose I could hook up my XM if I really get that desperate, I have a portable unit I use for work applications.
