Why do my threads get moved sometimes?

They must have a "mind of their own".

Seriously though, if your thread gets moved, it is because the Moderators deemed it better suited elsewhere.
You can follow a link to it's new placement.

What James said,lets say you started a thread about a laser site for a Ruger revolver,it's not a thread about the Ruger revolver more than a thread about the laser sight.This in turn would be moved to the "Handgun Accessories" or possibly the "Optics" sections that deal with the sight/scope type subject...
