copper or brass jaw covers for my vice is one of the first things I acquired. MSC industrial. Solid carbide straight flute drill bits and special hardened two flute taps made for hard steel. Emery cloth/paper down to 2000 grit, red and brown Scotch brite polishers.
Cold blue. Hey, you can go broke doing this, because you will never have all the right stuff. at least I never do. Luck and have fun.

+1 on the jaws. For brass punches, I turned to Ebay and bought tempered brass round stock. It's available in 4 common diameters and I bought 12" lengths that I cut 4" off to use a punches and kept 8" for future use. I wrapped the middle of my punches with a couple wraps of duct tape so that they were easier to hold onto.
