Now here's a road hazard sign that tells it like it is!!!

Those of us who ride will especially appreciate it...

I bet this was put up right after the state of the union speech by our POTUS.;)
Naah - as every motorcycle rider knows, those large hooved field rats don't need an excuse to jump in front of you...

Oh that's funny! We sure could use those here. Especially every night at dusk.

I would love to know where this sign is posted.
What Country, State, County or road?

It's in Ford County, Illinois, near Paxton; the local highway commissioner got the idea from his nephew, who saw one like it in Colorado last summer.

Here's a news article about it.

Around here it's mostly coyotes & antelope (my boss nailed a coyote en route to work earlier this week), but I saw plenty of suicidal deer when living in the Texas Hill Country... Of course, there are a lot of them a few miles north of here, once you get into the mountains.

That sign is spot on...I had a couple of deer commit suicide in the side of our car last year.
I've also had the experience, but the deer jumped in front of me. Did a job on my grill and radiator. Not fun!

My State needs that. There is a stretch of highway between Jackson, and Yazoo, MS that our news teams have to do a report every year to remind people about the "suicidal" deer problem.

I've had two of 'em do the deed to me. Both on my '70 bug.

When I was a kid two deer managed to wreck my 49 Ford on a back road one night. My GF got a bump on her head and I got a cut lip on the steering wheel. We didn't have seat belts in those days.

The car was totaled. It was a shame. I loved that car!

shouldnt we be doing something as a society to find and resolve the root cause of this suicidal behavior?

putting signs like this up is just a band-aid knee-jerk reactionary approach.

Proof that the 'deer whistles' worked on my touring motorcycle, when a small herd of deer where heading to the road. They stopped .... and placed their hoofs to their ears and just shocked their heads ......... lol
