Cough Cure
An apprentice pharmacist was in charge while the head pharmacist took a lunch break. A man approaches the counter complaining of a bad cough. The apprentice hands him a bottle of laxative, and suggest that he drink the whole thing. He pops the lid and downs the entire bottle, then wanders over to the nearest wall and just stands there. Meanwhile the head pharmacist returns and sees this man standing against the wall. He asks the apprentice, “What’s with him?” Apprentice says, “He was complaining of a bad cough, so I handed him a full bottle of laxative and told him to drink up.”
“WHAT!” says head pharmacist, “You can’t treat a cough with a laxative!” Aprrentice says, “Sure ya can, look at him, he’s scared to death to cough.”
