Did you know that if you are over 50, you ate a different kind of bananas when you were young? Yes, it's true. These days the variety of bananas we eat is called Cavendish. Until the early 1960's, though, the variety we had was called the "Big Mike."

Pests and diseases had advanced to the point where it was economically unfeasable to continue growing the Big Mike's, so it was replaced by a new variety, the Cavendish, which we buy in stores even today.

I can't remember the old bananas being any different, but apparently they are larger, and some say they have more flavor.

The first car tires were just cotton canvas tubes soaked in hot natural rubber. You had to glue them to the rims. Explains why you were lucky to make 50 miles without a flat in those days.

One of the early treaded tires was called the "No-Skid". The tread was actually the raised letters of the words "No Skid" at an angle across the tire circumference.

At the battle of Little Big Horn, Custer was not armed with either a Colt SAA or Navy .32, but rather a Webley revolver in .450 Boxer.

A healthy individual releases 3.5 oz. of gas in a single flatulent emission, or about 17 oz. in a day.

A human being loses an average of 40 to 100 strands of hair a day.

A person will die from total lack of sleep sooner than from starvation. Death will occur about 10 days without sleep, while starvation takes a few weeks.
@@@@@@@@@@

One guy I knew could produce his body weight in gas each day.

Some of us don't have to worry about hair loss any more.

My excuse for taking a nap every afternoon due to the above info.
