Greets,

I've won a vintage Lyman Spartan press on auction. It's not in bad overall condition, but I'd like to spiff it up a bit.
It shipped with a mid-grey color, with black operating arm and red handle.
I've seen several in this color, and am wondering if anybody here knows the true color scheme of a Spartan? Have also seen some in a blue-grey with a more orange colored handle on the black arm.

This is going to be my de-capping station so it's not going to see daily use, but will be an intricate part of my process.

I think yours is in the original colors.

My project arrived in today's mail.

It should clean up nicely.

And go just there:

Just on the other side of Ol' Blue.

Project complete :)

Disassembled, Cleaned, Lubed, Assembled, Function Check Complete.

Not bad:

Looking good for its age:

Test mounted:

Going to make a perfect "universal" decapper. That's my old 10mm die, not concerned about re-sizing, de-cap only:

Final adjustment complete, Spartan stored, Project Complete:

I went wet lube on this old timer, even thou the limited Lyman instructions prefer dry graphite as primary and wet secondary. I'm not looking to clean that mess up.
