The LGS has Viper 40gr plated rn 1435fps in 500pk for $35...

As far as price goes that compares to 50pk of Velocitors for around $7 and 100pk of Super X 1435 for $10.50...

Just curious to find out what others who have used the Vipers have to say in general...

Also...specifically interested in 10/22 with target barrels at 100 yards...

My 10/22 really likes the Vipers, but I thought they only came in 36 grain. They are not the most accurate as I do get some flyers. I've never had a problem cycling them, no jams are failure to fires. Good small game ammo or for plinking.

It is possible I made a mistake on the bullet size...not sure now...need to go back over there anyway...will double check...

Thanks for the reply...worth trying I think if they are good quality and reliable...I was tempted to get a 500pk but passed and got the Blazer instead...wished I had done the opposite...mostly due to the fact that I seemed to have feed problems with Blazers...not sure why...not sure it was the ammo...I think it was the ammo...

I hope some more people will give me their opinions as well...

Blazers have a heavier waxy coating than CCI Minimags. They are the bottom of the CCI brand. That wax coating leaves behind bits in the mag and inside the receiver. Also the Blazers when fired leave behind more residue as well compared to other brands. I have used both CCI Minimags and Federal Champion both burn pretty clean. But with the Minimags if used often make sure you take apart the magazines every once in awhile to clean out the waxy bits or it will jam the mags. I also would recommend cleaning your rifle after every visit to the range when firing the CCI ammo if you don't do so all ready.

I looked again today...you are right...they are 36gr...what made me think they were 40 was the solid bullet and bullet shape...normally the 36gr seem to be mostly hp...

I passed on the deal...did not want to dump any more money into larger boxes of untested ammo...especially since I am trying to find non-hyper ammo that is accurate in my gun at 100m...

Might try them in the future...kind of doubt it now...

Thanks for the reply...

I did get some due to lack of other options last time to the store...

I agree completely with that...

Finally got thru the last of the Bazers...they shoot well...and they do foul up the mag feed ramps causing feeding problems in a hurry...will not be getting any more blazers...

Also...I should have mentioned regarding the Vipers... they bulk cost is about the same as mini mags and imo they are not as good all things considered...
