I load a bunch of .45s.
185gr LSWC/ Win-231 @ 5.3grs
200gr LSWC/ Win-231 @ 5.0grs
Both of our 1911/.45s work real good with these loads. Our pistols are box stock, and these loads are not beating them to death. The range is a indoor 50' distance. Kills paper real good. Our defense loads are all store bought Super dupers.

I also shoot a lot of .45 ACP. I got a buy on 230 gr. golden sabers, and I push them with 6 gr. of Unique.
I have some 9mm golden sabers, but not .45 auto. How do you like them and how do they perform in your gun? Also, what's the source that you got your good deal on the golden sabers?

I like them. I shoot a lot of armadillo's and some snakes with them. Have checked the expansion on them and they have a lot of shock and quick expansion, but don't penetrate as deep as a hard bullet. I caught them on special at http://www.midwayusa.com.

Way back when I loaded a 200 Gr Speer LSWC over 5.1 Gr of Bulleseye. They're accurate and have enough steam in most .45's to cycle without installing lighter recoil springs. Got to get started again. Buying factory loads is killing me!

I shot over 50K rounds of 4.0gr Bullseye, 230 LRN, WLP. It an accurate, inexpensive load and easy on guns.

Hey, Baldy. What COL do you use for those 200gr / W231 loads ?
The kid will be up here the last week of April. He's bringing the P345 & say's he's gonna' show the old man how a young Marine can shoot! Only problem is, I gotta' furnish the ammo! I bought 2000 LRN's over the weekend. I'm thinking W231 in the 1.240 to 1.250 range. I load my FMJ 230's at 1.260 for my XD's & 1911's.

.45acp 200gr SWC over 4grs of Bullseye, COL right around 1.250". Very mild/accurate and cycles my Commander and full size Kimber reliablly with factory weight springs.

.38Spcl. 148gr HBWC over 2.7grs of Bullseye. Lost count of the number of thousands shot through my Security Six since 1978.

.45Colt - 236gr. RNWC over 8grs of Unique. Just enough to let you know it's not a Cowboy load. Good shooter too in my 5 1/2" Blackhawk.

Whew... That's more typing than I do in a week..... :D
