At 63 I'm getting long in the tooth myself and having just survived my first (and hopefully only) fight with throat cancer, looking forward to retirement in Sept of 2024. I promised management that I would stay until then but no longer, unless 1 of 3 conditions occur: 1. the wife's health turns south, my health turns south, or someone really pisses me off. One retired, I plan on shooting more, reloading more, painting my 15mm miniatures, and spending more time with my granddaughter. Of course tops on the list are spending time with the dogs and my best friend and wife of 45 years.

First off, A belated Happy Birthday Iowegan! You trying to catch up with me?

Now to the topic, I work full time largely because I never grew up, my sand box just got bigger. I love operating heavy equipment and constructing things like roads, small bridges, dams, home sites and making areas drain properly, just finishing a 3,000 ' storm drain system. In addition I, with others, maintain the road system our ranch . Also I work with the California State Contractor License Board, with other contractors, in exam development for new contractors this has allowed me to meet and make friends all over the state. Photography is another interest as well.
All my friends are retired I'm just tired.

@44 Carbine , are you asking me to go find the rule? Then maybe spoon feed it to you?

I know it’s a rule because I accidentally broke it before. An administer came along, moved my post, and politely told me why.

It’s our forum. Not your forum. Again, I’m not management.
You’re not management but it’s “your” forum but not mine?

Admire my vintage colt and Ruger collection and hunt some. Mostly as a Vietnam era and Gulf War Veteran (3 tours) and retired. I spen much of my time as a Veterans Affairs Commissioner and Iowa DNR Hunter Education Instructor (32years). I still get out in the wild, though Iowa winters seem to be getting a little tougher.

Someone just listed a '32 Ford for sale over on my home forum, MSGO (Mississippi Gun Owners) for $7K. Supposedly it runs and drives. I live on the gulf coast of Mississippi where they hold "Cruising The Coast" every October . . . one of the largest classic car shows in the country . . . so we often have lots of classic cars down here.

I'd love to have that station wagon.
You guys make me look like a boring old guy. I don't have a job but do collect my social security and my VA disability. I sometimes help at the place I use to work to keep their records straight and some of the pressure off the woman who would be getting stuck with it. I don't hunt. I don't fish, they put that stuff too close to the water. I own a 24 year old car that I can't maintain, but my kid can. Once in a great while I can make it to the range, such as this one is. I am musically gifted though. I can play a CD and a radio. I can also build models and compete each year here in Orlando and many times I give them to a friend on the gulf coast. Otherwise I end up doing things around the house and outside of it as well as watching over the property of an older woman on the next street who has been having trouble with some of the reject who live down the street from her. Fortunately this has slackened off lately and a few days ago a house was bought and she now has a police car about 6 doors down.

Still working, but getting picky about the jobs I take. I reload a lot, sporting clay league on Wednesdays, shoot bowling pins on Mondays.
I still dirt bike a little, mess around in the garage with a couple of toys. Spend as much time with Young Son as he will let me.
@Tacky I have a soft spot for the ATC. I think the 200x is a holy grail model. Almost as fast as the 250r and more forgiving.

It was the king until the 350x came out, however was almost still as fast as the 350x. Not as snappy as the 250r, but less labor intensive. I grew up on ATC's so still have a soft place in my heart for them. As the years go by, you see less and less of them, but it's a testament to the big reds quality, still see the 200 and 250 e and es models running today. I personally had a 1983 atc 185s, the 1983 atc 200e, still have my 200x. Friend had the atc 70, other had the 1984 atc 110. All we rode a million miles. My dream is to one day find an 1985, or 1986 atc 250r, then restore it top to bottom.

If you haven't seen this guy has the HOLY GRAIL of atc's believe it's in South Carolina.
