I used to be an avid fisherman, hunter (deer, elk, pheasant, quail, prairie dogs, coyotes, doves, ducks and geese) but now I just watch Utubes. I have been involved with about every shooting sport to include skeet, trap, clays, NRA pistol matches, 100 yard high power rifle, steel silhouette, gongs, plates and all sorts of paper targets. Now I'm lucky to fondle one of my guns maybe once a week. If it weren't for my computers, TV, and my dog, I'd spend most of my time in bed.

Getting old really sucks and today I am celebrating my 79th birthday .... yup, a Pi baby (3.14). If it weren't for my lower back, right hip, and bladder, I'd be as spry as a 75 year old. I'm planning to eat some old dead cow at Texas Road House tonight with my grandkids.
happy belated birthday

I play with my dogs ( Weimaraners) to many times a day. I do most of the cooking and shopping. My wife just ( finally) retired ( pray for me) so things have been shaken up recently. She’s out of town for a few days so I’m on the patio drinking a wonderful glass of a fine bourbon smoking a rather nice cigar ( don’t rat me out please)

I'm almost retired due to kidney failure issues but my hobbies list is too long to type out or afford. But I'm into model trains, camping, hiking (when possible), RC trucks and planes, real trucks, model making, real airplanes and helicopters, photography (I have my own pinup group), gardening, canning, movie reviewer, 3D printing, wine making, vinegar making, raising German Shepherd's, hanging out with my wife and kids and all sorts of other stuff...

Retired since '08, but find I have to work a little to feel good about things.
Since retirement have worked p/t at LGS's, taught my state's CC course and NRA Basic Pistol.
Have worked security contracting inside and outside CONUS.
Living on the coast, I worked a year with our state's Division of Marine Fisheries as a Fisheries Tech II.
I saltwater fly fish, spin-fish, work on my boat, tie flies, attend my fly-fishers club meetings.
Have my own range, so enjoy that - have gotten back into more reloading lately.
Belong to a hunt club (deer), leased land that a buddy and I are regularly working on, cutting lanes and building blinds.
Ride my off-road bicycle some, but not as much as I should.
Work p/t as a deckhand on a passenger ferry service near home.
Just graduated from a course at the local community college in order to get my official USCG Marine Captain's License.
Plenty of yard work on two properties that'll be kicking off soon when Spring/Summer arrive.

It was the king until the 350x came out, however was almost still as fast as the 350x. Not as snappy as the 250r, but less labor intensive. I grew up on ATC's so still have a soft place in my heart for them. As the years go by, you see less and less of them, but it's a testament to the big reds quality, still see the 200 and 250 e and es models running today. I personally had a 1983 atc 185s, the 1983 atc 200e, still have my 200x. Friend had the atc 70, other had the 1984 atc 110. All we rode a million miles. My dream is to one day find an 1985, or 1986 atc 250r, then restore it top to bottom.

If you haven't seen this guy has the HOLY GRAIL of atc's believe it's in South Carolina.

Back in the dark ages, when the transition was happening from three to four wheelers, the local Honda shop was going to donate several three wheelers to the Fire Department to use chasing brush fires. Lots of us thought that we could be a lot more effective with an 'Indian Tank' (not sure we can still say that, it was the brand name as I recall) on our back and wheels under us than hiking through the woods. City management of course got wind of that and decided that we might 'have fun' using them and the deal was off.
In years since I have used my Polaris Mv-7 to haul 5 people (at the same time) out of the woods. We set the drunk with the twisted ankle on the rear deck, had to have someone sit on either side of him to prevent his falling off and then had to have someone sit on the front deck because ... despite being obese, I wasn't heavy enough to hold the front wheels on the ground and could not steer on the hills. It probably looked comical but was a lot quicker and easier than carrying him out and the Police Chief, who was carrying him out on his back prior to our arrival was really grateful!

Ah yes the metal tank Indian pack, like an oversize water gun. Then they gave use the yellow bag style ones they called hot shots. Was better than a grass flap, but not much.

They actually offer an emergency operations ATV class and certification now. It's in the technical rescue curriculum, use it to search, patient extraction, hauling gear, etc. Never taken the class but sounds neat.
We have a side by side bobcat equipped with stokes baskets, usually has a few fire extinguishers and trauma bag, 4x4 but it gets more use during city events as a quick response unit on roads instead of off road use. The eastern FD's on the coast have 4 wheelers and jetskis for beach, and surf use.

We had the pretty (and heavy) stainless 'cans' and the lighter fiberglass ones, never used the bag style and don't know how you would refill it from a brook or stream, which saves you from hiking back out to a truck.

I set up a Polaris 6 x 6 many years ago when I was still riding dirt bikes to carry a stokes basket, we used it to retrieve casualties from the woods at our 'Hare Scrambles'

Our local FD (I am the oldest member but not particularly active in day to day operations anymore) got a SxS last year, I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Living two houses away from the campground where the drunk twisted his ankle (way out back in the woods) was how I happened to get involved with that particular rescue, no one objected to my hoping on the Mv and riding it down the road to get there and haul the guy out. I got to do a number of training evolutions on the Mv with the PD, we set up a number of 'Live Fire Woods Walks' behind a farm down the road to run them through rather than all 'square range' training. The Mv let me keep track of who was where on the walks.

About 15 years ago I met a bartender in the Keys who was on (as I recall) the Miami FD, he said they had jet skis, something I have never used despite having (currently) 13 boats (mostly kayaks), he said that you haven't lived until you try to operate a 2 1/2 from a jet ski on a wharf fire - I can't imagine trying to do that solo!

So, besides my first post, I still do some small jobs for friends and family (will be building a new home for my nephew this summer if my body agrees), still hunt, bagged an Antelope and Cow Elk last season and just put in for this years draw. Spend lots of time hiking/walking with our 5 dogs, camping when we can, I am a moderator on a Vintage H-D Motorcycle site (Hydra-Glide.net), trying to get back to fishing, built my own home and trying to finish some landscaping, keep a kitchen garden, and more I'm sure I am missing.

Can't get away from my career. I read technical manuals about computers and audio/video gear, then log on to my gun forums and learn about my other interests.

Cloudy, windy, mid 40’s to mid 50’s, water temperature 48 to 50 F. Boat started right up like it was run yesterday.

We caught a nice mess. Black and white crappies, white bass, Saugeye hybrids and hybrid bass. Nice slabs and not too many short fish.

Tom with the first of many nice crappie.

Tom wrestled this perch we estimated over 15 lbs for half an hour. It hit a grub on his ultralight rod with 4 lb test. Turned him loose.

A good day on the water.

Nice! Here's a couple from the last two days of striped bass season last June. We caught our limit of 3 fish per person each day and sent pictures to my oldest who decided to work overtime rather than join us.

Where we fish the regulation is 3 fish between 23 and 25 inches may be harvested except that one fish may be greater than 26 inches per person.

@MitchSC We have a hybrid bass in our lake that get close to that size. They are so fun to fight with, we usually let them go. Same with the large mouth bass.

I keep about everything else.

Im blessed. I live about 10 miles to the boat ramp in one direction and about 2 miles the other direction is a nice small mouth bass creek.

I fish in Lake Moultrie being (60,400 acres) it is the smaller of the two impoundments that comprise Santee Cooper Reservoir. Striped bass are diadromous and migrate between salt water and fresh water. When the lakes were flooded in 1941 a founding population were trapped and a thriving population developed in the reservoir. Due to over fishing, several years of drought, and aquatic weeds the population had drastically declined by the mid 80s. But creel and size limits have brought them back. The don't stock the Santee Cooper Reservoir. The limit was 3 fish over 26" but they changed it last year.
I live 12 miles fro the closest landing but the landing I fish out of in the summer is 16 miles, the one I use in the winter due to a lower lake level is 26 miles.

I had skin cancer surgery under my jaw a few days after this picture. I figured the doctor would give me a lecture. But when I made a joke about how dumb it was to get a sunburn prior to having skin cancer surgery. His reply was I'm not going to scold you it's job security for me.
It looks worse than it was. I don't peel and it really wasn't that sore. At the beginning of summer I get roasted than I have a farmers tan.
