Fast forward to the next world war. Humanity has grown by this time and the powers that be have decided that the winner of the war would be chosen based on what country has the prettiest guns. They decided to keep it to pistols, revolvers, centerfire or rimfire, rifles and shotguns of any configuration as long as it's a mainstream product that anyone with the money (not including local laws) can buy. That is, it's not a prototype, it's not a flintlock or a musket or a Howitzer; something that is being or has been made and sold as a firearm.

The countries deciding this will be:

USA/North America
UK/Austrailian/New Zealand
Germanic states, including Germany, Austria, Belgum, etc.
Japan/China/Other Asia
USSR/Russia/Cuba
Europe - all non Germanic and non British states
The Chezch Republics / Balkan States (past or present)
Scandinavia
South America/Latin America
Other

The sight of the main manufacturer would be the country it is competing for, i.e., Glock = Germany, Beretta = Italy, etc.

NOTE: Springfield Armory has split into Croatia (Chezch Republics) for all XD products with all the rest counting for the USA. If the same firearm is made in several countries, then the it counts towards the country of origin.

If you don't know whether it's a pistol or a rifle, it's a rifle.

Also, esthetics are what count. Being a good gun doesn't = pretty (necessarily)

Lastly, this is multiple choice. If you like, please choose ONE of EACH of the following Categories. Revolver, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun.

Please post your choice and category for each selection. Pictures encouraged.

Happy Hunting!

My votes are in. I chose:

Revolver - Colt Python - USA
Pistol - Beretta 92FS - Italy
Rifle - Mauser K-98 - Germany
Shotgun - Browning Citori - USA

Runner ups... Pistol was hard, because the P-08 Luger and the Colt 1911 don't deserve to lose. Rifle was also hard. I almost picked the Springfield 1903, but it was a direct rip-off of the K-98, so Germany got the nod. Shotgun, yeah, this was hard, too. Close 2nd to Benelli and Beretta.

Revolver was easy. Hands down, Colt Python!

Pistol-Colt 1911-USA
Rifle-Browning 1886-Japan
Shotgun- Remington Wingmaster-USA.

. The rifle I wasn't sure about its a copy of Winchester 1886 but it was made in Japan.
Second choice for rifle would be Remington model 8.

No 1 Enfields, they did make a few No 5's but they weren't mainstream. I think they only made five of them. But other countries made them so I guess they could too.
I think the De Lisle is a cool looking rifle (and I hope to someday have one) and it started life as a LE.

Yep, I was going for just looks. I'd never heard of Korth before. It's hard on revolvers because mostly they look so similar (except for the Rhino).

I see we have the same taste in rifles. I picked the K-98, too.

Yeah, Britain makes some fine looking shotguns. I think the over/unders are the best looking.

I just googled Korth and found a semi-automatic that looks a lot like a Desert Eagle.

Back to shotguns, this was my pick, the Browning Citori

All good choices. I almost picked the Colt 1911, but there's something sexy about the Beretta 92's. We picked the same on shotguns.

I almost went with a lever action, or what I really wanted to pick was a Sharps, but that would've broken my own rules.
