I recently bought a Super Redhawk, 9 1/2" barrell. Anyone who hunts with a Super Redhawk, what is the best holster for this gun - for hunting. I will be carrying this when hog hunting, sometimes as a backup to archery. I may need a fast, sure draw, as I don't want to become hog food.

A fast draw with a 9.5" barrel will be challenging, to say the least. That gun would be fine as a primary handgun hunting weapon or from the bench on a range, but if you want a quick back-up while bow-hunting I suggest something with a 6" or shorter barrel length.

I use an Uncle Mike's sidekick shoulder rig for my S&W 586 8 3/8" when hunting deer... or rather when looking for deer. Easy and quick draw even with a lot of clothing on.

Check out SIMPLY RUGGED HOLSTERS online. They have a sourdough pancake holster that is awesome. If you combine this with their chesty puller conversion system you have your choice of a hip holster or a sort of tanker style chest holster. I am impressed with their workmanship. This set up is worth the wait and price.

The Bianchi X15 info says it fits up to 8" barrels, Uncle Mikes does have a Sidekick Vertical Holster that will fit my 9 1/2". I really like the idea of leather, but I also don't need to carry any more weight. The vertical holster is probably the most practical way to carry this large gun. My question is how fast can I draw with it? I'll probably have to try one out.

I'm really wanting something I can reliably draw fast.
