Looking for a holster for my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk Stainless Convertible 45 Colt/ 45ACP, 5.5 inch barrel. I tried it in the holster I bought for the 6.5 inch Blackhawk 357/9mm, but I think the front sight is too tall. I bought that holster from Ruger and would like a similar one for the 45. Thanks

Take a look at Kirkpatrick. . Very nice at an affordable price.
These are the absolute best western single action holsters available. Three laminated/stitched together layers make up the holsters body. An inner lining of pig skin or suede although they suggest against the latter since it holds dirt to scratch you firearm. Also a thinner smooth side out piece of cowhide also is used for the inner lining.
Then comes a firm, model specific Kydex insert that holds the shape of the gun allowing for an easy re-holstering of your gun and a quick draw. Last comes the 9-10 ounce outer layer of premium saddle leather that can be edged, carved, stamped in pretty much your desire although most are in stock with plain, basketweave, or tooled. Four different finishes are available for the leather with appropriate edge sealing and paint. The holsters found at Kirkpatrick can easily last the lifetime of the gun or at least your ownership of the gun. Smithy.
