I kinda missed the boat on these. I think they look cool. Anyway, it seems you can get lightly used examples for not too much money. Do any of you have them?

Are magazines still available?

Are holsters still available?

How long were they produced, and why did they discontinue them?

The P345 was a decent gun, a bit more ergonomic that the P90/97. That being said, if I remember correctly, it also had a mag disconect and a internal lock and a loaded chamber indicator, all of which I am not a fan of. The mags are pretty much out of stock everywhere I looked. Holsters i am sure you can find. They discontinued all the P series because Ruger jumped on the striker fired bandwagon and came out with the SR9. Like all the P series guns, they are reliable performers.

The SR series is the direct descendent of the P345. I have one and it's more accurate than I will ever be. Magazines are available, just need to search and then search again. The P97 magazines fit the P345. Not sure how long they were made or how many were made. I'll leave that up to the historians.

My opinion is it is a good shooting gun.

I have one. It’s a solid reliable truck gun and that’s where mine resides. The magazine safety is easily disabled and there’s more than a few YouTube videos to show you how. I’m indifferent to the LCI and I’m not 100% sure mine has one. I don’t care either way. I like having a 45ACP readily available without having to worry about it getting dinged up. It doesn’t need any mods. The grips are fine. The sights are fine. It functions fine. It’s accurate if I do my part. What else do you need? Good gun. Where I live they pop up every now and then in the $350 range. You can spend a lot more for a lessor gun. Highly recommend.

I love mine more than I can say. Not everyone likes them. I do!
Easy to rack and is accurate beyond me. No mods at all needed for me. I covet mine and have massed spare parts and have also a parts gun that works. These "P-Series" run like tanks and continue to provide good shooting at the range and on a hike. Look around and find a "P-Series P345". Try it. Love it or hate it.
*I will never part with mine. I can still get mags, and many holsters fit the gem. I love the .45ACP ability and just over the years have learned to use and control the weapon. In my old age it remains one of the guns I can control well. It is a good nightstand pistol, and, in the winter, I sometimes carry it on the trail, hunting/tracking and at outings. If I ever got stuck in a bind, I would TRUST, my P345 without issue.
*I recommend you look around and find one. Any "P-Series" will fit the bill. I love the P345.
"P-Series" Rule. Not a better value out there!

Yes, I bought a pair of P85’s from a forum member here, and I am really enjoying them. I will only buy more P series if they are reasonably priced and have the box, manual, mags and loader. I will buy an incomplete or cosmetically challenged one if it’s dirt cheap.

The same guy I bought from has a P95 he just put up here. I can’t seem to find the ad. It’s probably already been sold. I will buy another P series before I buy another RXM, and I love my RXM.

The P-345 is a decent gun. The polymer frame is the predecessor of the SR-series pistols that Ruger made. I was not a fan of the magazine disconnect, and sold it when I slimmed down my stockpile of firearms this past year when I went back to school full-time. I kept my Ruger P-97 DAO (I prefer a DAO pistol vs a DA/SA trigger and the P-345 did not offer a DAO trigger option) but it was a nice pistol to have around. It shot straight, ate anything I fed it, and had a comfortable grip. My $0.02 worth...get one, you'll like it!

Yeah, It’s hard when the 45,40, and 9mm guns look so similar. I got confused as to which one he was selling. That’s cool of him not to repost the 40 cal guns so I can try to buy it next month. He had it on GB, and he ended the auction thinking that was the one I wanted (let’s be honest, I want them all) but said he’s not going to realist it.

So if all goes right in the next 3 weeks, I will get that one too.

I don;t know why I overlooked these guns in the past. I guess because I had White Coat Syndrome. I was working in a hospital, and was affording Belgian made Brownings and HK’s and Colts at the time.

One of the P85’s that I bought off Beau last month is LNIB. I took it apart and there is no wear on the finish of the rails at all. They still have all of the finish still left on them. So that one will maybe get 1 mag through it just to test it at some point, but I have been shooting the other one quite a bit.

i have ten OEM mags and I tested all of them at the range. I also got 4 17 round MecGar mags for the P85’s.

I may actually carry the P345. That is if I can find a holster for it. If not, I will make one. Just an OWB leather pancake holster.

I really like them as they feel, in my hand, very similar to my Berettas. A nice, big, chunky grip. The first shot out of it double action always goes into the center of the X. I find the double action pull to be perfect, between these Rugers and my Berettas. The pull is a little heavy at ten pounds DA.

The Ruger P345 was produced from 2005 to 2013 and was discontinued as part of Ruger's shift towards their newer SR-series and later American Pistol lines. Magazines and holsters are still available but becoming less common. The P345 is known for its excellent ergonomics and reliable performance, though some users note its bulk compared to modern polymer pistols. It's a solid, dependable .45 ACP if you can find one in good condition.

Yes have one, like it but not as much as the 90, or 97. I think it will serve you well. I'm just not a guy that likes mag disconnects, or loaded chamber iindicators, not a deal breaker, just not crazy bout them. Uses the same mag as the 99, and 97.

345 first in line.

Wow, that is quite the collection. These are just awesome. They fit my hand as well as my Berettas do. I was just trying to get my son to appreciated them, but he doesn’t really seem to like them.

I think he may be down to visit around Christmas time. He’s busy with work and school and lives out of state. I was going to get him an RXM, but now they have come out with one with a threaded barrel, and I am going to get one and give him mine with the standard barrel. I have only had it a few months. He can’t have the threaded barrel or the standard mags as he lives in Washington. So I’ve got 10 rounders he can take with him.

My son likes certain guns, but he’s not really into higher capacity modern guns, with the exception of his Beretta. He likes cowboy guns mostly.

Well @Tacky ... we all have our reasons but I'm not surrendering to the cremation furnace. I will have already surrendered to whatever consumed my last breath. The body is just the vehicle that chauffeurs your soul and spirit around here on earth.
Amen! We're a spirit that exists in a human body. We're responsible to care for that body as best we can, but in the end, the body dies and the spirit carries on, where that is depends on the choices have made in this life that extend into eternity.
But I am glad that, in this life, we are fortunate to live in a time (21st Century) and place (USA) where one of the things we have is the freedom to is enjoy firearms and share those experiences with others! Woot! 😁 😎
