I'm trying to replace the front blade sight on my Ruger Blackhawk. I would like to put a high visibility front sight on it, but I can't figure out how to remove the factory sight, is this even possible?
Try this before you do anything ... Paint the front sight with Bic White-Out correction fluid ...it is flat white lacquer .
I keep a correction pen in my shooting box for touch ups ...the flat white stands out just as good as fiber optic .
You can also use it as a base coat fot a "Day-Glow" color ... I was going to do this but discovered white was more visable to my eye than orange or green day-glow ...

My 1970 Blackhawk's front sight is not easily removable either ( no screw or pin ) that's what prompted me to "paint" .
The fllat white color stands out and is durable ... Bic White-Out is cheap and easy to find too .
