Ruger Blackhawk front sight replacement

normally the front sight on the blued Blackhawks is soldered in place the sight blade and body are one unit....on the stainless guns the body that is slotted is soldered on and a blue blade pinned into the sight body.....easy enough to replace the blade..on the blued guns you either unsolder, replace the whole unit , which then would call for rebluing the barrel, and possiibly the entire gun so as to "match" the bluing.....other wise a GOOD gunsmith ( machinist) could mill down the blade, and cut a "key way" in the sight body and make it a pinned in affair ........easy to say, hard to do...........;)

if it were me, I'd simply go the model shop and get some Testers Da Glo orange and paint the top , rear of the blade, ANYONE can see that set up.....:)
