There seems to be some confusion on the Internet about what tactical light works on this very short rail, I saw one owner on Reddit claimed that the bigger 2 cell TLR-1 "works great", but only if you don't worry that the key doesn't engage the last slot on the rail. The small 1 cell TLR-7 SUB fits great, you just swap out the pre-installed adapter for the thinnest one in the little baggie...
TLR 7 Sub 500 Lumen Tactical Weapon Light Designed for Subcompact Handguns
I got mine from Botach with free shipping for $130.
Streamlight TLR-7 SUB Ultra-Compact Gun Lights
** Be SURE to order the "1913 Short Models" option, that is the only one that will fit the Ruger rail! **
I dislike the push buttons, I much prefer the "swipe down" ones on the larger light, but beggars can't be choosers. There just are not any other good choices for a plain light... This light takes a single standard CR-132 cell. loaded by unscrewing the lens cap.
The pistol shoots OK, though the Fiocci 95 gr FMJ range ammo would not feed at all (as reported elsewhere). I am carrying the Underwood Xtreme Penetrator 90 gr standard pressure load (not +P which Ruger says is bad), it is hard to find but Underwood had in back in stock as of a week ago.
380 ACP 90gr. Xtreme Penetrator® Solid Monolithic Hunting & Self Defense Ammo
I traded in my CZ P10 F because my aging hands can't work the controls any more (the narrow slide especially). This gun truly is an Easy Rack pistol. The OEM trigger should be illegal, it drew blood after 100 rounds, the blade is sharp and it literally will rip a hole in your finger tip. I installed a Galloway Precision trigger and it is better. "Acceptable" IMHO. The aluminum part is 100% fine, the 3D printed blade seems a little crude.... it looks tacky to me; see pic:
Does that safety blade look OK to you guys and gals?
