My GP100 came with Hogue soft grips. They fit my hands and full magnum loads are not the least uncomfortable. I put the same grips on my GP100-10, not because of the recoil, but so that they would both feel the same.

I love the looks of the Hogue cocobolo!!! I'd love to try them on my Alaskan. I had the same experience with Eagle grips not fitting at all, even after I sent them back and they tried to fix them. I love Chigs grips these days.
There’s just something about wood grips on a blued revolver. I really need to get wood grips for the SP101.

It really is a shame about Eagle grips, especially with how expensive they are. I honestly really like how thin they are but quality control and customer service are definitely lacking

Well y'all, the new grip finally came, altamont was a Bit backed up so had to wait an extra week. Will post pics of it on the gun when I get home.

Here it is! Perfect fit, no gaps to worry about. Rubber and wood Feels very high quality, for a no-slip grip. Makes the gun feel less bulky and unwieldy than the hogue. Though I have gotten used to the trigger reach of the hogue after a few months of waiting to buy this. I like how much higher a grip I can get, and even after practicing bringing it up to position and doing some dry firing today, I am getting into the groove with the altamont. Very well relieved for speedloaders as well.

Wow! Those really look nice. I just really like the blend of rubber and wood panels. I just haven't found anything that fits the GP100 to my hand any better.

Those pachmyar gripper grips are perfect for my square butt service six. They provide the best recoil absorption . The fit in the front seam is not perfect but that is a non issue as comfort shooting full house 357 is heads and shoulders above the rest.

My gp160 wears the rubber lett style full grip with custom wood inserts. The lett style provide me best comfort shooting 357

Got a set of compacts with checkered super rosewood ordered from Altamont. Got an email today looks like it'll be a few weeks. No worries though the hogues will make it till they come in.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I felt like creating a new one would be redundant. This has to do with Altamont grips. I just installed their snakeskin rubber grips on my GP100 and it fits perfectly and is great, but I noticed that the grip felt kind of...sticky? And when I pulled my hand away from it there was blackened soot all over my fingers.

Is this typical with these grips? Is there something I can do to prevent this, aside from wearing gloves while shooting or something? I emailed Atlamont about it yesterday but I haven't heard back from them yet

Stock Hogue GP100 grip. I have large hands and these grips on the GP100 fit my hands the best of any hand gun I've held in 30 years of shooting. So much so that I'm suffering through some quality issues (Ruger is fixing) with my revolver just because the grips fit so well.

Great thread. After reading posts I am going to try some of the Altamont compact grips for my GP 100.

Great thread! One of the best things about the GP-100 is the great variety of grips you can get for them. My 4.2” stainless .357 GP-100 came with the finger-groove Hogue grips, and within a few months of buying it I obtained the other grip styles. It’s easy to see how different people with different shapes and sizes of hands would find one type better than the others. I do NOT have a set of compact grips for it...... yet! But soon!

At any rate I have what I would call medium hands, and for me I could use any of these grips and shoot ok. But the best so far for all around use? The original finger groove Hogues. They help tame even the stiffest loads. Were I going to conceal carry this gun those grips would be a terrible choice! The compact style would be better, but this isn’t my CCW gun, it’s my “big stick” in my pistol selection. Thus, the original grips spend the most time on it, but I do enjoy swapping grips on it and experimenting with them.

The grips are your interface with the gun, and I don’t have ANY other firearm with this kind of versatility in grips. And I’ve only scratched the surface of what’s out there!
