For the more religious of us, why is the 45 refereed to as Gods caliber ... or is it the 1911? A friend just picked up a 1911 and he called it Gods caliber.

is it possible that the saying references the fact that JMB, often referred to as god in the shooting world, created both the 1911 and the .45acp to go into it.
Genesis 1:1 says 'And JMB created the 1911 and saw that it was near perfect and said "Only needs the cartridge to go with it to be perfect", and the .45 acp was created."
This ends the reading for today.

Unlike some lesser calibers when you shoot someone with one they will go to meet their maker. I have never heard that expression but suspect it has something to do with it's wartime service. Probably save many soldiers bacon and they thanked god they had it.

I suppose that I could see it as God’s caliber since if one is fired at you, it is an invitation to meet him face to face. I think that my .44 mag would send the same message more emphatically but, why split hairs.I suspect that Mike Bloomberg and other leftist would see it as the Godless caliber.

John Browning developed the round in 1904 to use in his prototype Colt Semi Auto. In 1904 Teddy Roosevelt was President, the ice cream cone was developed and Cy Young pitching for the Boston Americans the predecessors to the Red Sox pitched the first perfect game in baseball history. What more proof does anyone need. 👍
