Hello fellow Ruger owners, I have a question for you.

I have a handful of 10-22's and my newest edition which is a basic model I decided to install a Power Custom trigger kit to reduce the trigger pull down to 3lbs. I know my 10-22's pretty good and the drop in Hammer and sear went very well and easy and the trigger feels good. I was able to bring it with me to the gun club yesterday and it was going good until I ended up with a dead trigger about half way through a 25 round mag. The spent case was ejected and a new round chambered but not fully leaving the gun out of battery and a dead trigger. I then manually ejected the round and re-chambered a new one it fried fine but the next one again wasn't in full battery and trigger dead.

I'm kinda stumped as I don't see anything out of place. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated..

Well seeing as the bolt isn't going into full battery, the trigger isn't set to fire almost the same feel if the safety is on. I can rattle 20 rounds or so off and then the problem shows up. The gun never gave me any issues until I installed the Power customs kit and as I said the install was very easy.

I can manually rack it and it will fire every round but cycling on it's own power is when the issue arises..

Thnx for the quick reply BlKHawk73!!!!

Ok, well, could you see anything that was keeping the bolt from moving completely forward? Gotta stop and look when these occur as after the fact it's harder to say. Also, did you change the hammer spring when you put in the PC parts? Going to a lighter one can cause issues of different kinds but usually its reliable ignition issues associated with that change. Heavier ones can also be a culprit for an issue.

Went and tried it this afternoon with the stock hammer spring and first 25rnd mag emptied fine, then the second 10rnd mag the issues started again.

I believe the Butler creek folding stock is part of the problem being that the stock doesn't hold the trigger group tight like the stock, stock allowing the pins to travel.. The trigger groups pins fall out by just taking the gun apart. I end up with the Mag release/bolt hold pin out on the floor immediately and the trigger pin was part way out. These pins should have a bit of a tighter tolerance. I'm gonna try the same setup in the stock wooden stock and see what happens..
