I have decided to change the hammer and trigger springs and have ordered them from Wolff. I watched a couple of videos on how to take down the R.V. It shows how you put a pin or what ever in the hole to trap the mainspring .My question is what is the best way to remove the spring to replace it with the new spring.? I haven't worked on a vaquero before but it don't look to intimidating.

I can get mine out without removing the gripframe. After that you will have to fight the spring a little to get it off the hammer strut but it will be outside the gun where you can hold it in a vise or somehow push the clip down and pull the pin out. Hey ain't that how they light off a grenade?? 
Received my springs from wolff today. The trigger spring was no problem however the main spring from wolff looks to be about a 1/2 inch longer than the stock one. Does this spring need to be clipped to length??? or does it just compress more??
Well I installed a 30oz trigger spring [easy] Then I got the 26# hammer main spring installed. [ turned the air blue a couple of times] All is well that ends well. Can't wait to get to range to try this configuration out. The hammer feels more powerful and the trigger is crisp, looking good.
I used the drill press option. I went with 30oz trigger spring and a 14lb hammer spring. I believe stock is 17lbs. You lock time must be pretty dang good with a 26lb spring.
I made it to the range today to try out the new spring changes. I like the way it feels now. Very positive and the trigger is crisp. I noticed an improvement in my shooting right off. I still have a ways to go. I just have to keep at it and practice more.
