I have used a leg carry holster, like it fine but thinking about IWB or OWB alternatives. Love what I see from Alien Gear -- but the newest best modular one that I like isn't offered for LCR. I talked to Alien Gear and it sounds like it might be good while - or never- before they make this in LCR model.

So how about recommendations for both IWB and OWB. Don't think I could go AIWB, thinking more 3:30-4:00.

Also I am a newbie, good to be here.

If you want leather, I highly suggest Wright Leather Co. If you want Kydex, Vedder holsters are top notch in my opinion.

Whatever you do, spend the cash now for a quality holster AND belt. The Beltman has tremendous belts for CC.

I've got each of the .38 and .357/.38 and I pocket carry the .38 in a Sticky holster. I have an Alien Gear OWB on order and it's taking what I perceive as forever to obtain (that includes the follow up email stating that they had upgraded my order to an IWB!). Email follow up said that I received it in error. I had a similar holster to the Mitch Rosen made by another manufacturer that I used for my Glocks/Shield .40's that worked ok but the holster would try to ride up when I removed the firearm. I have since upgraded the gunbelt but have rid myself of the Glocks/S&W to go with the Rugers.

Welcome from Utah. I have the LCR in 22 Mag. I use a sticky holster and pocket carry it.
Good advice, and a nice option. Very easy to just drop in your pocket and it doesn't print against the pants material. Sometimes concealability is more important than speed.
A former Utahn, here.

I like my Sticky holster, though I also have a Blackhawk leather IWB I sometimes use (works well on my SP101 too). Recently ordered a Crossbreed ankle holster (big sale right now) will try it out soon.

I preferred the pocket holster when I still had a LCRx. I used an Uncle Mike’s IIRC.
If I own another LCR, I’ll get a Clinger comfort cling.

I received the Alien Gear OWB holster for the .357 LCR and wore it yesterday and today since I had a light weight jacket on (starting to get "old man thin skin"). It carried fine at 4:30-5:00. Later today when I went to get gas I carried my .38 LCR in my Sticky pocket holster.

Pocket carries can sometimes be an issue with jeans since I have a front pocket wallet, a separating keychain, an extra speed strip, and a cellphone. Usually I'll just slip the cellphone into a back pocket, or if in cargo shorts, one of the outside open pockets where I can drop it in.

I got a pair of JP Holster IWB kydex holsters & they're comfortable for appendix carry, should be fine for 3:30-4:00 carry. Also tried 2 cheap one-size-fits-some neoprene pocket holsters which were comfortable but front jeans pockets bulged out like I was carrying baseballs. Got a kydex front jeans pocket holster from Alabama Holster. I cut it down a lot. The top printed, the bottom was flat & my pocket is pointed so it rode really high until I reshaped the bottom. Happy with it now but I waited 10 weeks for it to arrive. Got a pair of leather IWB Talon holsters too, ok but a little wide. Wrangler isn't paying me to say this but those Comfort Flex Waist jeans are great for IWB carry. No need to wear oversize jeans. Other brands out there may have similar jeans, I don't know.
