glad the OP picked up the Charger takedown... mine has run flawlessly so far (about 1,000 rounds, mostly Aguila standard velocity, about the cheapest i could find at $0.03/round)...

i like how compact the package can be with an SBA3 pistol brace, and UTG and Copper Custom adapters:

i took it out to the range across the street yesterday and ran 250 rounds... here is a typical result - 10 rounds - just using a cheap red dot... i'm going to try a scope to see if i can do a little bit better:

i look forward to many enjoyable sessions with this amazing 10/22!

Damn, that is some good shootin! I believe I may seek out some Aguila ammo and see if mine likes it as well as yours does. I am so taken by your folding brace, I may also try one of the UTG adaptors on my set-up. If I do, it may still fit in the hard case I can no longer use because the brace makes it too long.

You would be surprised at how accurate the charger is. I didn't want to have to mess with the take down models. Nice but I just want to pick up the weapon and shoot. Lazy I guess. Very happy with mine, still I am looking at the badger bullpup stock. My old eyes could use the extra sight radius of a longer barrel. I think 16 inch would be shortest I could go. You really don't gain much from 10 inch barrel to 16 inch barrel in fps. I am iron sight kind of guy. I guess some day I will have to go to a red dot or scope.

Latest update. Went out to shoot the Charger Sunday evening and had more FTFs and FTEs. I purchased some factory Ruger 10 round magazines hoping that would help and also tried some Federal copper-plated 38 grain as well as some CCI 40 grain standard velocity along with the CCI mini-mags.

At times, the casing would extract from the chamber but be sitting on the next round (similar to a stove pipe). Other times the casing would eject but the next round would be jammed at an angle but wasn't feeding into the chamber. I made sure the magazines were locked in and "clicked" but continued to have issues?

Is there anything else I should check on the gun? My son's 10/22 carbine never had these issues. Thanks.

i'm no expert, but:

1. is tension ring properly adjusted? (should be slightly hard to twist on forend)
2. is forend takedown screw firmly down?
3. with safety on and finger off trigger, can you cycle a full mag manually?
4. does magazine drop free when released?
5. is extractor lined up with barrel channel when bolt closed?
6. does bolt face show one side or other in contact with barrel/chamber?
7. did receiver/bolt channel get a good scotch-brite treatment, then run dry?

hth, YMMV

hope mr. 28decoys get his pistol back in tip-top shape! i had a lot of fun with my FrankenCharger pistol this morning - set up absolute cowitness:

Image

optics formula was a Bushnell TRS 25, UTG sub-compact rear sight, and NDS front sight (i'm a cheap old codger)

the pistol consists of KAK Shockwave, neoprene sleeved tube, UTG folding adapter, PMACA TD chassis, used *Charger* receiver (which makes it legal), parts box trigger assembly and bolt, AR plug for grip (to store CR2032, hex keys, etc.), Ruger rail, Whistlepig Acculite 10" barrel, Blackhawk thumb rest, and quick-detach flashlight holder:

pistol can also be used in folded position with access to safety, mag release, trigger, charging handle:

and then it conveniently breaks down to fit in my mil-surp man purse:

i only had to adjust the rear sight for windage after the red dot was sighted in... quite happy that i didn't have to futz around with risers, etc.

Ole linux and I need to team up for a match if he doesn't mind his partner being 68 years old, might kick some butt. 25 yards, but I'm doable for 50.
ya got me beat by four years - a match sounds like fun! i've just started having access to an outdoor range locally and may give my Charger TDs a go at 50 - won't be until it stays light out a bit longer (shooting club meetings are at 1830 on the first Mon evening of every month)

nice lookin' Charger! that Copper Custom adapter is a brilliant accessory - makes everything possible - not needed on the PMACA, but my other Charger likes it a lot

:)

still like to hear from the OP about his Charger TD and how it turned out back from Ruger - hope it turns out well - these are great little pistols

Well, I'll take on a younger shooter. The wealth of directions the Charger can take now are phenomenal. Yep I figure we'll have a good match.

It’s been almost 3 wks since I sent in my Charger. Other than the email acknowledgement I received when it arrived, Ive not heard anything else. I sent a follow up email last week but no reply.

I was really expecting to have it back in my hands in good working order by now.

well, i'm sure you're gonna get it back in great shape

thanks for the update and keep us posted... would like to hear how this turns out...

i'll be heading out Tues am to a local range and will be running Aguila SV through 13 different 10-round mags and a 25-round Ruger mag in one of my Charger TDs

as promised, here is a target pic from yesterday of one of my Charger TDs, which eats cheap Aguila SV LRN with aplomb (150 rounds, no malfunctions); pistol consists of a factory TD pistol stock, Copper Custom and UTG adapters, cheap TAPCO Saw grip (lots of storage!); SBA3 brace, cheap red dot, UTG rear peep and Nodak front sight, with Kidd lower-power spring/charging handle, factory bolt and firing pin, VQ extractor, bolt-release mod, and bobby pin trigger spring (quite smooth!):

i hope the OP's TD is arriving soon - we all want to know how this turns out!

I love mine to death, I have a standard model with a CC brace adaptor, SB M4 brace, Kidd 8" bull barrel, Simmons Shotgun scope that is so much fun that my poor 10/22 is gathering dust in the safe.
