Hello,

I purchased a Charger last month for my bug-out-bag, then I started searching for optics. I contacted Doroftei Industries - Home to see if their clip on sights for the AR15 crowd would work with the stock rail on the charger. Andrei Doroftei responded to my email and sent a sight of shorter prototype sights for me to fit on my Charger.

The Ruger weaver type rail on the Charger isn't a mil-spec Picatinny rail, with the slots being about 3mm versus mil spec of 5mm. I had two choices with the Doroftei sights, purchase a new picatinny rail or cut down the grooves on the sights to fit the Ruger rail. I decided on the later using a my utility knife and a small file, crude but it worked. The sights lock in tight and aren't easily removed from the rail.

Here's a photo album I just created with the sights on the Charger.

Also you'll find a target I shot at yesterday about 7 yards away. The bullseye is about the size of a dime. The sights are much better than my eyes since I require reading glasses and distance correct to drive. Using iron sights I don't wear any glasses just as I shot these rounds.

My eyes are awful for iron sights so hitting a basket ball size is no problem at 25-35 or so. However I do have a 1x red dot which makes it much easier to hit targets out to 50 or so. I can gong my metal target at 100 yards about every other shot.

BTW, is there a break-in period with the Charger (10/22 action)? I'm still getting some failure to feed or jams with CCI mini mags and AR tactical ammo. My charger has about 125 rounds through it as of Sunday.

I have been looking for backup sights for my build. I was wanting to keep oem the iron sights for backup but having those on a factory barrel wouldn't help in keeping the weight down. These sights would be perfect so I could add an aluminum bull barrel to make the weight of the overall rifle way lighter and still have a way to get back up sights. Great find.
