Anyone know why Ruger never made the Deerfield in .357, .41Mag, 45 long Colt or .45 WinMag? Even if they did limited runs in each caliber throughout the year/s I think it would sell out rather quickly. I would certainly want one in 41 and the wife would love one in .357, I wouldn't mind one in 45 WinMag either.

I've asked Ruger's CEO a few years back if they had any plans to come out with a Deerfield or Mini in .357mag, etc. (the Deerfield has a Mini's action design) and he replied that they had no plans for either one. I think they're missing a market segment, especially if they could come up with a 20rd mag design that worked with rimmed cartridges. As a Mini-14 owner, I'd love to have one in .357mag.

I agree with you, they are missing a market segment. Being able to offer it in several calibers would be very appealing to people who want a companion carbine for their handgun. I would love one in .41 Mag. I have an original 44 carbine and considered rebarreling to .41 but just can't bring myself to do it.
I'm even looking at converting my universal Ferret in 256Win Mag to .357Mag for the wifey.
