My son inlaw was showing me a YouTube video on a .225/5.56 case trimmer on ebay that cost is roughly $23.50 & chuck it up into your corded/cordlest drill to trim brass case's on your .223/5.56 does it very quick its also made in several other calibers. Has anyone bought and used one of these and are they any good???

gqucool, Lee makes a case trimmer like what you described. There are other brands that work much the same but cost more. Yes, they do work quite well. You need the "cutter and lock stud holder", plus each specific case type has a "case length gauge". How it works is …. there is a case length gauge with a small diameter tip that goes through the primer hole. The tip has to stop on the base of the stud holder to maintain the proper case length. Before I bought my Forster Classic case trimmer, I used Lee case trimmer for every one of my rifle cartridges.

You need both of these:
Here's a link for the Cutter and Lock Stud (About $7): https://leeprecision.com/cutter-lock-stud.html

Here's a link for the case length gauge and holder (about $6.50): https://leeprecision.com/case-conditioning-tools/case-trimming-tools/case-length-gauge-holder

The Lee Case trimmer is even cheaper than Ebay's Worlds Cheapest case trimmer.

^^^ This is what I use. After getting the common parts that cost about $10, it’s $7 for each additional caliber. Also shines up tarnished and stained brass. While it’s chucked up take some 0000 steel wool shine it up. Makes old brass look new.

I use this for most of my calibers that I load for. The results are very good and very consistent. You will still have to chamfer and deburr, but that is no big deal. I love it cause there is no messing around with any adjustments, just thread the case length gauge into the cutter and start trimming.

I have used the Lee case trimmer for years, they even made me a special length gauge for my .30 Luger cases. It was only a few dollars more than the standard gauges. They also have a cutter with a wooden ball on it, a little more comfortable.
Bought a small Dewalt drill motor just for the trimmer.

Hey, can someone post a few pics of this trimmer? I've looked around and haven't found it......My biggest concern would be a "square" cut. I've have a Lyman and Pacific since day one, I have just the right feel for how much pressure to apply that I can take off .001" each complete revolution.

But I'm always open to something different.

Mark204, If you scroll down to the third picture in the below link, you will see a cutaway view of the basic case trimmer. In the 4th picture, you can see the assembled tool with the case length gauge, cutter, and lock stud (laying flat). The stud on the shaft on the end of the lock stud will fit in a drill chuck or …. you can manually trim cases, or you can use the motorized Zip Trim, or you can use a crank handle as in the second picture.

Mark, I've got the Lee Case trimmer and find it to be the best for a large amount of cases needing trimming, however I also have the Forester case trimmer that I've had for at least 40 + years with the different pilots, and shell holders, that have to be adjusted for different caliber cases and then hand turned for the final operation. I generally use that for my 30-40, 300 Savage, and .303 British cases, as it takes just a few minutes to set it up; Myself I prefer the Lee case trimmers for ease of operation, as all you have to do is chuck it up in your drill and go for it.
