I"m looking for a good case for my ruger precision rifle.
(its the shorter 5.56 btw)

uses are to lug it in my car trunk to the range, and for lockable storage at home.

I found the "peak case" guys, which offer pre-fitted cases specifically for RPR...looks nice, but...
I dont see any third party reviews, so I'm a bit leery of it.

Myself, I like the Plano hard cases with all the latches and wheels. Some have pluckable inserts you can remove to fit your weapon to. I prefer the solid foam (not the pluckable) and use a magic marker to outline my particular weapon, then use an electric flay knife to cut a perfect insert. They can be a bit pricey, but they do seal and are water resistant, have a pressure valve for air transport, lockable and I've yet to destroy one or have anything inside damaged in transport.

They have been available here for a long time. Also good hard cases.

okay, a bit old :-/
but I like to be complete.

I ended up getting this case from "Case Club"
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0742MBLJF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and its actually pretty nice!
Decent foam cutouts, and easy to customize as needed for scope, etc.

And has the extra "features", that i dont have to fold stock, or remove bolt if I dont want to.
And has bonus area to stow a pistol as well!
waterproof, all that good stuff.
...

just one problem.

All that extra space.
I forgot to pay attention to the actual measurements. and compare it to my trunk size.

It wont fit in my trunk :-/

guess I'll keep it now since I customized it an all, but..
daaaang...
