I have a PC4. I was really looking forward to shooting it on Father's Day, but while putting it in the case I noticed the taken screw and washer were missing. Not completely shocking as I had noticed they were loose before. I was afraid I would damage the gun shooting it without the screw so didn't.
I called Ruger today. Customer service was very helpful, but they no longer make or stock the screw. They are sending me the flat washer and lock washer. But they don't have the screw. They were also unable to give me specs on it so I could look elsewhere.
I don't think the screw is unique or very special. They are likely identical on the PC9 and PC4. I expect I can find a suitable replacement at a good hardware store. Can someone tell me the size, thread count and material? I don't remember if it was plastic or metal (aluminum?).
Also, I am thinking about putting locktite on it in the future so this doesn't happen again. Factory said red locktite is OK. Anybody do this?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
