This could have gone into the tavern, but thought it fit collectors better.

I have guns as old as 115 yrs (1910 Springfield 1903) and fresh off the line 2025 "babies". The average age of my guns is 29 (1996)

My oldest Ruger is a 1956 Single-Six Flatgate

While the youngest is a NM Blackhawk in .357

Currently my oldest is an 1856 P-53 type 2 Enfield riflemusket made right here in the USA by Robins&Lawrence of Windsor Vt. for the Brits during the Crimean War. This was the first machine made Enfield of any type.

Probably the oldest I've owned was a US M-1841, (Mississippi Rifle) made by Tryon in 1848 converted to shoot .58 Minie ammunition and accept a bayonet pre-Civil War.

An H.S.Brown 10 gauge SxS. From what I can find probably made between 1890 and 1920. It was my grandfather's. I saw him shoot a skunk with it around 1968 or so. The flame out the end had to be 20 feet long. Made quite an impression on 5 year old me.

Top is a 1945 M98 my father-in law brought home from WW II. Made in Germany toward end of the war has tool marks not polished.
Middle 1937 M98 belonged to a friend that had sporterized and hunted with it, He dropped it out of tree stand and bent the barrel. I bought it from him, rebarreled it for 308, replaced the bolt handle and drilled and tapped it for a scope. I was made in Poland and is well polished.
Bottom walnut stock I never found time to fit.

I also have guns from the 50s to present.

Around 1977 I bought a used Winchester 101 Trap gun from a guy who had not owned it long. Still have it, my oldest.
1979, found a new Winchester 490 semi-auto .22lr at a gun store and grabbed it. I think they were already discontinued.
In 1985 my wife gave me a Ruger 77/22 for xmas that year.
Those are the oldest I still own.

A guns age is actually not significant to me. Good designs, are good designs. Now, average available ammuntion and it's average power level does become a factor sometimes, in both directions. But for me, I shoot. I do not collect past what I shoot. And I only "collect" what I think I can shoot the best.
