LCP Max Elite

I came across a new iteration of the LCP Max, the Elite model. What makes it "Elite" is a red aluminum trigger described as flat and it comes with a 10 and 12 round magazine. The original LCP Custom has a red aluminum trigger that is wider and for me more comfortable to shoot for me. That tiny extra width makes a difference.

I can't tell if the new Elite trigger is really that different. Compare and contrast.

They don't look much different to me other than one being red and made of aluminum. Am I missing something? Anyone have experience with this new Elite model? It's also called the LCP Max ELT.

Just saw this in the description on the Ruger website:

”LCP® MAX Elite model features an anodized aluminum flat trigger, black nitride coated slide and barrel, electroless nickel Teflon hammer and sear, and stainless steel guide rod”.
The nitride slide and barrel ought to be much more rust resistant than the standard bluing. That alone makes this model worth it in my opinion. Really they should nitride all the LCPs that aren't cerakote.

I called Davidson’s and was told that they get the entire, finished gun from Ruger - Ruger told me that the trigger is a “different material” but the same shape as the standard LCP Max trigger, and not sold separately. So, why does a trigger with the “same shape” resolve the trigger bite issues?

Texas Yankee, I have both the regular and elite LCP Max and while the trigger shape is very similar the biggest difference is the safety tab that’s on the triggers face and overall trigger length. From my own experimenting with both guns - I don’t get the trigger bite on the elite. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s because the point on the safety tab of the regular max is what is actually biting the skin on my finger between it and the inside of the trigger guard when releasing the trigger back to its original reset position. The elite doesn’t have that sharp of a point on its safety (as you can see in the pics) and the trigger overall is longer. Hopefully this helps... Stay safe and be BLESSED!!!
