Looking to hear if there's a particular brand that's better than the others?

Thanks much for your time.

Have the MagLula Mag Loader; works great for me 10-rounds at a time. Far better than hand-loading and easy-peazy.

Use with metal stripper clips isn't great (works, sorta), but with Poly stripper clips, works very well. Also works well loading 10 rounds at a time without stripper clips.

Am happy with the investment and consider it well worth it. Don't want to spend your time at a range re-loading...The MagLula speeds thing up!

I must add to COSteve's post: there is really a certain kinship to "rolling your own". I got mine mostly for speed, but also comfort when arthritis is nasty.

I mostly overcame "range time" (my pasture) consumption for re-loading by just buying more mags, all loaded up. It is (sadly) a rare day that I shoot more than the 20+ mags I always keep loaded.

The MagLula is a wonderful device - particularly when arthritis rears its ugly head. I have several hundred rounds loaded up in poly stripper clips for those (hopefully) rare instances that one needs to re-load quickly after 400+ rounds. Be prepared...

For those with limited mags and limited range time, pre-loading multiple poly stripper clips makes a great deal of sense.

I really can appreciate what RJF is saying. To me, shooting is a relaxing sport and I really enjoy just contemplating the day and my shooting while I'm 'thumb'ng' some in the mags. I've got 10+ 30rd AR mags so if I'm into blasting some 300+ rds in a sitting I've got that covered.

However, I've found that with my M1A (I got it a few years before my Mini) I take my lowly 5ea 20rd mags and shoot in a relaxing rhythm. If I'm in the mood to shoot more, then I leisurely load them up again. If I'm not, then I'm done. It's more about the 'getting into the rhythm and the mood' vs just sending them down range.

So, my 10ea 20rd Mini mags gives me a great number of rds to run through before I have to think about refilling them. Heck, no matter how many I shoot of any mag. When I'm done for the day, I always refill the mags at the range considering the shooting. Enjoying the outing and reveling in the freedom to enjoy a great sport and a great place to live.

The 'place' I get into when I shoot is fantastic the last dozen or so years. It's not about even hitting anything (however, I do well in the zone). Rather, it's that comfortable feeling of being one with the rifle and the event. I don't even notice I'm refilling my mags. It's just all about being in the moment, being into the shooting, enjoying the sights, sounds, and experience.

BTW, this sounds way, way to zen like for what it really is. I just enjoy the deep satisfaction of being outside with my firearms. Of being free to enjoy the moment. Of being with myself.

I have quite a few different ones for the mini. For awhile the Striplula is the one I like then the the John Mason clip tool is really good too. But then I started having feeding issue from the ammo bullet tips riding the front of the mags jamming up. So the best fool proof way is still loading them singularly but in a pinch I will use the loader 10 at a time and gently tap the mag before another 10 round stripped. I also only use 20rd mags mostly.

COSteve has a good point, and I have found myself hand-loading some of my mags "off range": mostly new mags that I have prepped with cleaning/de-burring. There is a soothing quality to that when I'm not in a rush.

But after a shoot-fest with 10-15-20 mags needing re-loading, the loader sure is handy. In the back of my mind, the speed of reloading mags might become critical in a very nasty scenario I pray will never happen. I don't wake up in a sweat in the middle of the night over that, but the old adage "Be Prepared" comes to mind. Should I grow older to the point where arthritis becomes a factor, they will certainly come in handy.
