Found this Glock 19 Gen 5 at a pawn shop for a good price. Looks to be in almost unused shape, but you can tell it was shot by the markings on the outside of the barrel. Came with the case, lock, 2 mags, extra backstops, & the unopened manual. Took it to the range today and it goes bang :).

I’m a fan. Bought my first Glock last December, a G20 Gen 4 10mm. Wanted a new EDC so got a G19 Gen 5 9mm “Ultimate Carry Agent”, which has u channel night sites. Simple and smooth.

Mind Blowing fact is, Glock has been around for almost 40 years now and early Gen 1 G17s are collectible . I think Glock even released a "retro" Gen 1 17 . Glocks aren't them "newfangled poly crap wonder nines" anymore, they've been around. I don't get the "Glock Haters" like plastic guns are new or something.

Congratulations on that , it's a solid gun you'll never have to worry about. I'm not even a Glock fan and I've got 3 of them. My 42 .380 is in my carry rotation and I know it will just work

I carried Glocks as a nuke Guard 20 years ago, I carry a Glock now as a CO, I've seen dirty filthy Glock 19s carried by Iraqi police and army guys. We used to train them how to shoot them.

I just kinda like them by default, they just work. I don't really look forward to shooting any of mine, they're not "cool" to me , they're just solid tools.

Congrats. I love my G21, they are ugly, the grip angles are weird, the factory sights stink and the triggers are acceptable at best but they are almost indestructible, extremely reliable and pretty accurate. The last three are what matter most in my opinion so that's why I love mine.

It used to be that Glock was really the first superhero in town but now there's quite a few so they aren't quite as amazing as they used to be but if the poop were to hit the fan, my Glock would be one of the guns I grabbed first.

The G21 was my first Glock. I got it back in 2005 and had wanted one for a long time because it held so many rounds of .45 ACP, and I liked Glock's reputation for reliability and durability. I shot the heck out of it until I got my G30SF nine years later. My wife's first gun was a G19, and I got a G42 for her to shoot later on so she wouldn't wear out the PPK/S.

I thought I was the last guy to get Glock, now I seem like an early adopter. My three carry guns are a Glock 43, 43X or G19M (pictured below).

My nightstand gun is a Glock 35. Sadly, I rarely take my 1911's out of the safe. I still do catch myself with my thumb swiping for the safety. Kinda like maybe when they cut your leg off, but you still feel your foot. :(

Glocks are fantastic for what they are...

Inexpensive pistols that are easy to service and hard to break.

Everyone should own a Glock19, IMO.

The hate comes from a few things.

Aesthetics - 2x4
Ergonomics - questionable/debatable
Trigger - exceptionally unimpressive, especially if you were used to shooting a quality DA/SA prior.

It's the Honda Civic of firearms... and the fanbois are as insufferable as the early 2000 riceburner crowd.

Nothing wrong with a civic (or a glock) but if you turn it into this and won't shut up about how awesome it is you deserve all the hate that comes your way.

Well I may as well confess. I bought a gen 5 g21 a month ago. Hated on glocks for many years. Only shot gen 3 9mm and was not impressed.

Gotta say the trigger on gen 5 ain't too bad. And the strange thing is it actually points well for me. Maybe due to the big fat grip with 13 45acp stuffed in there.

Definitely not a gun to drool over but it works.

Only two Glocks I have left are the G21 Gen 5 and G20 Gen 5. I shoot mostly 40SW out of the 20, but the Gen 5 handles any 10mm better than my hands can. It’s softer shooting than my old Gen 3, even with a heavier RSA. The Gen 5 sits on my night stand with a SureFire and a mag full of 180gr HSTs.

Back to the G19, took a bit but it’s a solid pistol now. I remember before the turn of the century the problems Glock was having with larger departments. After several on going “improvements” they got there. Now with Gen 5, I see them as the best of them. Carried a Glock, concealed Glocks, and shot competition with Glocks, for almost 35 years. Would be one of the two weapons I would pull off the shelf, load up, and go to war with. But there is more to life than having an apocalypse ready pistol. LOL

The Glock 42 is neat, it's a very shootable little .380 . The Hogue sleeve made for it was an improvement for me. This gun would be perfect as a double stack .32 ACP but that will never happen

I fired a G19 with the NY-2 trigger and I actually like that trigger. If I ever get a Glock 26 3rd Gen I'm putting an NY-2 in it.

The last pistol qual I did at work with the 45x I shot an easy perfect 300

You really can't go wrong with them. They've become pretty much the standard sidearm for law Enforcement for a reason.

There's been quite a few NDs with them at work because non-gun people manage to keep pulling triggers or keeping fingers on triggers while holstering i.e. Glock Leg . To the point where each shooter on qual day needs a Certified Instructor "coach " behind them to ensure guns are cleared and no one accidentally shoots anyone . Retraining from revolvers to Glocks is apparently challenging. I wouldn't be surprised if they installed heavier trigger springs at some point

How bout a Gucci glock...shadow systems.

Young Son won a SS on gun bros. There is something different about either the grip angle or the backstrap modules that makes it shoot a little different. I like it and shoot it pretty well.

How about a knock off Lois Vuitton glock
