I'm sure most of you know that today Ruger announced a new left hand competition 10/22. However the MSRP of $899 places it out of reach for many of us. I sent a request to Ruger's CEO on their website to make less expensive versions of the left hand 10/22. Here is what I wrote:

"Congrats on your new left hand competition 10/22. It is very nice, however, the MSRP of $862 puts it out of reach for many of us left handers. Please consider also making less expensive versions of the left hand 10/22. A left hand version of the standard 10/22 or the Take-down 10/22 that retails in the range of $300 to $450 would allow more left handers to enjoy your excellent 10/22 in a left hand version."

Here is the info on the Ruger website: Ruger® Custom Shop 10/22® Competition Rifle Left-Handed

Every lefty should contact Ruger to request a more affordable left hand 10/22.

I learned many years ago to shoot with either hand, in the late fifties and throughout the sixties when I grew up there was no such thing as left-handed firearms, of if they were they were prohibitively expensive. The early m-16's had no shell deflector like they do now, so unless you wanted a chest full of burn marks you learnedto shoot right-handed

From 1973 untill 1985 I shot my 10/22 carbine right handed . In 1985 I lost the sight in my right eye .
So ...from 1985 untill today I've been shooting that same 10/22 Left Handed (blind in right eye = left eye dominant) ... 36 years shooting left handed and it works just fine .
You don't need a " left handed" 10/22 to shoot left handed ... You Can Do It !
When them overpriced left handed 10/22's don't sell ... maybe Ruger will come down , untill then , take what you got and CHOOT It !
