I was getting a link for someone for the techsights for the 10/22, and in clicking around their website, I just discovered that they came out with a new rear sight for the older style mini14.

Link: MINI 14/RANCH® Rifle - adjustable aperture sights

Scroll down about mid page, to " MINI 14 and 30 RIFLES Pre 2005 "..

I've not been soo happy with the stock rear sight.... that aperture is a little loose in the rear sight mechanism, seems to be a nature of the beast.
Their page reiterates that too.
Years back I had gotten a bag of all new rear sights parts from ruger for free, still didn't fix the issue.

So this seems like a real nice upgrade.
I love their 10/22 sights.

Anyone ever use these for the pre 2005 carbines ?

I put this model Tech Sight on a 185 series. The factory front sight was to tall would run out of adjustment & peep would turn side ways. I put a John Masen muzzel brake front sight on its alittle shorter still had to file it down alittle now everything is perfect like it much better than factory sights.

tnx...

And does it feels solid and adjusts easy and adjust well ??

I don't have any issues with adjustment on the stock sight, plenty in each direction.. and I'm always torn with keeping it stock VS making some changes.. since it's a very clean early version that I have, with wood handguard...
but I know that stock rear sight with it's loosy goosy aperture isn't helping accuracy issues any.

The Tech Sight is solid & adjusts easy. I put it on for the same reason my stock rear sight was wiggly. After I put Tech Sight on stock front sight was to high ran out of adjustment the aperture would turn sideways alittle did'nt want to file stock sight so I got John Masen front sight. I have old sights & can return it to original anytime this way.
