I am looking at the Little Dandy powder measure by RCBS. I am only going to load 1 caliber with 1 charge and this seems that it would work. The unit with a powder rotor is only $55.00. Has anyone got experience with these? I know that the high $$$ units are more versitle, but I dont need that. I don't think so anyway.

The Little Dandy is an excellent powder measure for reloading revolvers and pistols. I have used one for over 30 years to load 38Spl, 357Mag,44 Spl,44Mag,45ACP and 45olt. There are certain powders not recommended for reloading such as 296/H110 but using a scale to verify loads,
you could probably use the Little Dandy. I would collect all of the rotors. A 12 guage storage box can be used to store the rotors. I would also add a box of Lee powder measures to complement the Little Dandy.;)

I'm slowly switching my Lee everything, including powder measures over to RCBS.That's a great measure in my opinion.I do have 2 RCBS uni flows but I fell into a deal on one of those and had to get it.Works great for me.Good luck.

There are several good powder measures that dispense the small charges for handgun reloading accurately. I do use my Little Dandy a lot though, for handgun. Just FYI, I bought an 'adjustable rotor' from a guy on 'thefiringline' forums that goes by Bailey Boat. He sells them. It has been working great for me, no fixed rotors needed. I'm loading up some 380 auto now & it dispenses the 3.2 grains of win 231 very consistently.

You're going to need more than one rotor in order to determine the best/most accurate load for your one caliber.
I wouldn't just pick a charge, buy that rotor, and start loading.

Some of the rotors don't all measure "exactly" as indicated.
For example, my #1 rotor throws 2.7grs of Bullseye instead of 2.5 as indicated on the Little Dandy Chart.

What caliber, bullet, powder and powder charge are you planning on loading?

Maybe someone here can give you some load information, so you only have to buy the fewest number of rotors.

The caliber is 44 mag. After very serious thought I have decided to buy the RCBS Uniflow ( .5 to 50. ). I can get it for less than $80.00 and be able to load all the different charges that I want. Three additional rotors would cost more than the price difference. All the info that I received spoke well of the Little Dandy. thank you all.
