Hi, I wondered what rails people have fitted to the GSR to support scope placement in the conventional position, as opposed to forward mounted? I know XS do a full length rail, but what other options are out there?

I have tried the Weigand and the Xs rail and for me if you really must have the scope or red dot in the "normal" the Xs rail wins hands down. The Weigand rail system is fairly thick and unless your scope has a drinking straw for a tube it ends up being lifted too high.. The Xs rail is much thinner and lets larger scopes sit as low as possible it also has an inbuilt ghost ring and if your optic fails/breaks or the batteries simply go flat take the optic off and keep hunting. Same rail can still mount a scout scope or a red dot or standard eye relief scope or just use its steel sights.. Is a huge amount of space to cantilever mount other accessories as or if needed as well.. Just my thoughts but all the Weigand rails I have tried across a few rifles all ended up with me loosing a good cheek weld on the stock trying to lift my eye and head up to look through the scope. Goodluck
Go with the XS. I got mine through Grabagun, it had there “request a quote” option and was $60. I bought a threaded aperture from XS so I can now use the aperture inserts to pick my preferred size.
Forgot to mention that important bit- with the XS mine has a Nikon 4-12 x40 in UTG quick detach single piece rings. I can switch peep to scope and back in seconds.
Thanks all - I have also been told that any M77 rail will fit the GSR, so I guess that adds possibilities too.
