I've not have had any issues with them. That said, I mostly shoot 20 round mags through my Mini.

 

the factory Ruger mags are very reliable but other brands not so much. stay away from pro-mag! i bought a couple 30 rounders just to have but i mostly use 10s while hunting because of their compact size. personally i feel the mini looks best with a 20 round magazine.

 

I have three of them. They’ve functioned perfectly in my 180 series and 195 series Mini’s with several hundred each Winchester and Federal 55 grain 5.56 and .223 ammo. I keep them loaded with 25 rounds to take it easy on the springs.
They’re pricy, but top quality.

 

Got two of them to see how they perform. 100% flawless, and I might say a better quality of build than the Ruger 20-rounders last year. Just big for a light carbine...

Definitely. For my Mini 14, I have the two included 5-round mags, and an assortment of Ruger 10 and 20-round mags. The 30-round mags stick out way too much for my preference and the handiness of the gun.

 

I purchased 2 from Ruger directly a couple months ago. No issues on my end, however I've probably only put around 60 rounds through each of them. All Winchester M193. I mostly just purchased them for "kicks." I'd also hate to not have them if a ban goes into place or if Ruger had a change of heart. I personally feel 10 round magazines are the sweet spot when plinking - I like to place my shots.

The one thing I will say is that you may have trouble loading them if the slide is closed. I believe that is a common encounter with the Mini-14 (i.e., slide open for magazine swap). Really a non-issue for the most part, especially if your slide is locking open after each subsequent magazine swap.

 

After buying many other brands, I try to stay with Ruger. I bought like 10 20 rounders a few years back for $25 each, all were brand new, never fired. Guy at the shop I got them from said he bought an estate of guns, the owner had 50 mags for every gun he owned.

 

Been shooting the ruger mini 14 with 30 and 20 rd factory mags for 25 years never an issue. I mostly use the 20's as well. Use the factory 20's in my mini 30 too,, never any issues. Aftermarket, thats hit or miss. Have a few but use the factory mags 99% of the time.

 

When I had Mini-14s the only mags I would ever but were Rugers.
Third party mags just had too many problems

 

I use all Ruger mags. A couple of 5's, & several 20's. I'd have a 30rd, but heard they didn't feed as good as the 20"s. I love the 5 rounders when bench shooting.

 

I started a thread about how my factory Mini-14 /30 round magazines will not fit in my stainless steel Ranch Rifle. I bought two brand new factory Ruger mags and they will not insert into the mag well. All my Ruger factory 20 rounders and after market 30 round mags fit with no issues, but not the Factory Ruger 30 rounders. I am stumped. I called Ruger and talked to a customer service rep and she was no help at all. She would not even offer to assist. I will call again and maybe someone else will help me.
