Post your experiences with the various brand Glock pattern magazines that you have used in your RXM.

I recently took the RXM to the range and shot 174 rounds of 124 grain FMJ with the following mags:

Glock 17 G5
Glock 17 G4
Glock 19 G5
Mec-Gar 18 round (2)
KCI 15 round (4)
Magpul 15 round (2)

All shot fine no failure to feed or failure to eject.

Had issues twice when slide would not drop by slingshoting after reload.

It happened after shooting one of the Magpul mags to empty. Insert next mag, slingshot slide and the slide lock lever did not drop and let the slide go forward. Pushing the slide lock with my thumb and the slide went forward no issue.

I tried to duplicate this with just two rounds in the offending mag and could not.

Not a thorough test of the mags since it took 160 rounds just to run each of them once. The other 14 rounds were trying to duplicate the slide lock issue.

I've got a total of 340 rounds thru the RXM.

Initial impression of the MecGar mags was positive.

The KCI mags worked fine. These have the steel inner body.

One range trip isn't enough to draw conclusions.

Here are pictures of the mags with the exception of the G19. The KCI springs are shorter than all of the others but functioned fine. A Glock 19 mag has the same spring length as the G17 mags, Magpul 15 rounders also have the same spring length as the G17 mags.

Stock RXM, purchased December, 499 rounds of Federal AE 115, AE 124, HST 124, Speer GD 124+p, Blazer Brass 124, and Fiocchi 147, over 5 range visits.

Mags in use:

PMAG 15 (came with gun) - 2
PMAG 21 w/ thick PMAG basepads (Brownell's) - 3
Glock 19 Gen 5 (Brownell's) - 3

My only logbook entry relating to magazines is on Range Visit 4:

"Three instances of fail to chamber using a weak, unenthusiastic slingshot; on each with the GD and HST, and one using the AE. "

This was with Glock 15 OEM round mags. I tested for this again on RV5, it did not recur. Going to chalk up to my lack of arm strength. :)

Other than being a little hard to depress the ammo column with my Maglula compared to OEM, I have had no issues with the Magpul PMAG 15 or 21 round mags.

I have some Glock 17 Gen 5 mags en route for a class in May, will add when I get them tested.

I'm not sure how many rounds I have fired through mine, but it's been a decent amount, guessing at least 500. Glock 19 and 17 mags have been perfect. I even have some Glock factory 19 mags with the plus 2 extensions that have been fine. The Magpull mags I have had one round take a nosedive when chambering the first round slingshot style. It has only happened once, but I use only Glock mags to carry now.

I just got my RXM yesterday morning. I had ordered a 10 pack of KCI G19 mags in anticipation of getting the RXM. I have had good experiences with the KCI Happy Sticks for my Beretta and Glock, so I felt good about getting a 10 pack of the standard capacity mags.

I have 3 ETS 15 round G9 mags as well, and I just ordered 10 Amend 2 15 round mags from Gun Mag Wharehouse for $7.49 each. They are steel lined like the KCI and Glock OEM mags, but they don’t have witness holes.

I will get some OEM Glock 19 Mags for carry, I am just running out of money this month after buying 3 new guns, 500 rounds of 45ACP (I had to because it was Winchester for $149.00), 5 22 cal AR Mags, and 20 assorted pistol mags, and a holster and mag carrier for the RXM.

i also need to get three OEM gen 5 10 rounders for when the mag ban hammer in my state finally falls.

Ok. This list includes the brands of aftermarket mags that I’ve tested.

ETS 15 round mags for Glock 19….I have 3. These were around $7.50 each. A work well after break in. And you can change the color of the followers and retention plates. I have red for my 9mm 9MM NATO for my Glock 19X and yellow for 115gr. These work well in the RXM.

Amend2. I have 10. They were $7.00 each. They work well and don’t swell.

KCI…I have 2 ten round, 10 15 round, and 6 33 round. All work well with the RXM and Glock. They were about $11 each.

Magpul…I have 6 fifteen round mags. They work well, but can swell if left loaded for a long time. Like the Original Glock OEM mags that weren’t steel lined. $12 each.

MecGar…These are steel bodied 18 round magazines. I have 4. They fit sloppily in the RXM. Too much wiggle room. Might be ok in an actual Glock. They were $17 each.

Glock OEM. I have 33 round mags, 17 round, and 19 round mags. They work in the Glock and RXM. $20 to $30 each.
