Normally, I agree and always clean any factory new firearm. Rugers especially, but the manual does clearly state as @LarryNBoise showed, that they even encourage taking it straight to the range. The grease they applied into it is break in grease. I didn't clean either of my RXMs prior to first firing; the first one I didn't have a chance nor did I know they state this in the manual but figured what the heck. The 2nd, I took straight to the range, as they encourage it. Both guns did run very well.
Mine had what looked a lot like white lithium grease? It wasn’t the copper colored stuff Glock puts in at the factory.

My OCD would not allow me to follow the manual before my first range trip, strictly, so I bore snaked the barrel and lubed it pretty much like every other Glock I’ve had. I mean it Is a Glock…basically. :)

Yes, mine came loaded with what looked like a white lithium type grease also. Either way, it seems like they're running well. :)

Olight does include a Glock rail adapter but, the issue is this. My Olight is rechargeable and quick release which allows me to swap it from gun to gun with simply flipping open the single release/locking lever. A 1 second change. So, yes I could change to the Glock adapter fitting, but then I lose the 100% Picatinny compatibility. I install and remove the single Olight daily depending on the current light configured gun is going with me as carry (without light) or onto a gun going onto my nightstand at night. Very sweet setup and I recommend Olight 100% over Streamlight which I have owned before. I have owned and used my Olight for years with zero problems, so disparaging it if you have never owned one is a little weak. I don't disparage Glocks because I never owned one. I speak truths when I and hundreds of others agree the triggers suck. In every other department, they pass muster.

I never needed this Ruger RXM for lack of a carry or home defense guns, but I thought I would throw some more money Ruger's way and give it a try just like I did the Sig P320 Carry when it first hit the market. I think the RXM will stick around longer than that P320 did, which was not long at all after, but this guy is quickly becoming a questionable outlay of cash for me at this juncture. I agree, going with the Glock rail is a huge miss except for Glock fanboys that will undoubtedly approve.

At this point, I think I'll just buy the latest Chinese junk Olight mini Valkyrie smaller than the one I have yet rechargeable on the gun and configure it for Glock rail. Cost me less than any Streamlight out there that requires batteries.

Streamlight fanbois are just as bad as all the others.

First responder buddy snagged me a PL-MINI 2 for my G45.

Love the Glock trigger.

Love the PL-MINI 2 Valkyrie.

Can't stand manufacturers setting their own standards for accessory attachments which are overall detrimental to innovation, the industry, and consumers.

Shooters that trash talk guns and accessories they have no grounds to spit upon also bothers me; but, I'm probably guilty of it without knowing so at times 🙃

Ruger should have offered a picatinny rail as an option over this Glock rail BS. I'm obviously not a Glock fanboy and starting to regret this $400 experiment. Probably an awesome upgrade for Glock guys, but a downgrade for Canik and IWI Masada owners.
It IS a Glock clone, not a Canik or IWI Masada clone.

This is fairly put, and I definitely am not trying to be a Streamlight fanboy. As you said, we are all guilty of it at times. 😂

My old motto, is if I'm not paying your bills, and you're not paying my bills... It is very peculiar that we as humans are so interested in criticizing or praising what other people spend their money on 😂

As @PilatusTurbo stated the Glock fitting should work for picatinny as well and guess what; it does since my Olight tightens up quite nicely. I had completely forgot that I had the original box somewhere and actually found it where I should have looked to start. This model is PL-PRO Valkyrie 1500 Lumens and should work great swapping back and forth between my SAR K2 45, Canik Mete SFT, and the RXM.

I already ordered a smaller Chinese knock off 800 lumen El-Cheapo brand on Amazon that has similar quick attach lever and USB recharge setup for a whopping $25. If it works out to be decent like the reviews stated, I will have a smaller footprint to hopefully work with my Stoeger STR-9MC (which also has the Gen 3 sized rail slot.. This massive Olight flame thrower is way too big for the Stoeger.

I'm not a big guy, but I am big enough to apologize if my temperament on this subject got a little sideways with a few at times. Fanboys unite!!

Roger that, and it's looking slick! Yeah, don't get me wrong, there's an Olight that has batteries now, like the Valkyrie, can't recall name. I was considering getting it to try out, and I may. The rechargeable battery thing was always my biggest issue with Olight. Clamp systems aren't my favorite, either. If they have a screw mount with removable battery, I may order one. :)

2nd Range trip today.

Cliff's: +87 rounds (47 FMJ, 40 JHP). Zero issues.

Details: The main goal today was to zero the 407k I'd installed. That went well. I put 15 clicks on windage and 12 clicks on elevation. Based on bracketing the B-8 at 25 yards, appears the optic is zeroed.

Round count was 87, including 20 Gold Dot 124+p and 20 Federal HST 124. The balance was range ammo, Federal AE 115 FMJ. The gun is now at 202 rounds. No malfunctions. No problems with the SCD.

I used the two original PMAGs, as my 3-pak of G19G5 mags hasn't come from Brownell's yet. Shot quite a bit SHO and WHO, but poorly. Ran a B-8 down to 25 yards and attempted 10 rounds, standing 2 hand unsupported. Put 8/10 on paper for a scored 61-0X, not bad for me; I am no great shooter at distance. Shot FYL drill at 4 yards for 7/10 (nailed the 1” square, so 7/10 was a little frustrating.) Did The Test (10 rds x 10 yds x 10 sec) hot for a 83-1X with the Gold Dot 124+p.

Had a few flyers I called immediately. I could tell I was jerking the trigger; those were all on me. I need to get back to dry practice. Gun appears zero’d now, will continue to monitor with more 25 yards groups and adjust as needed.
I've ordered a 15# RSA and OEM Glock slide stop assy from NDZ. Although I haven't had issues, I have noticed the comments about the slide stop looseness, and I'm curious to compare Ruger's part with Glock. The new RSA is just to play with spring rates.

Still liking this gun, a lot.

ETA: Post session average of five pulls with my Lyman measured 4.4 lbs (was 4.7 out of the box).

Glad you're sharing here, too. This thing is selling well, from all I'm hearing. I believe we may be the forefront of a movement... :ROFLMAO: :)

Picked up a 1632 battery for the Zero today, dropped it in, spot of blue Loctite on the screws and torqued with my F.A.T. wrench. Turned it on, and the dot lined up perfectly with the high profile sights. It was sighted in on my 365XL, and never touched after. Don't know if it really is "good-to-go" but I'll find out soon. Bad East Coast front coming - the Polar Vortex - so if I can get out to go shoot, it's going to be the long drive to the indoor range.

I am really looking forward to your range report! But I completly get the "weather issues" problem

Since we’re talking fanboys , I’m an SR9c fanboy .
I wish they’d bring that thing back . I’d buy a couple more of them .
I'm carrying mine right now. :) Yeah, the SR series was cut too short. Myself and several others have said if they would bring those back, modernize them a bit like the 9E with good basic steel GLOCK sights, add the stupid forward slide serrations that'll make it hideous but everyone's gotta have 'em now, and make it Optics Ready.... Keep the price point at $499 or $449 with at least 2 mags... Man, that'd be a hit.

That was Ruger's first Glock clone, and they're still awesome pistols. I didn't have SRs for a few years, but I got a 9E last year, and had to get the SR9C. I had an SR40C a decade ago, so I was familiar. I ordered stainless slides and parts kits off gunbroker for the 9E and SR9C and have stainless or blued for each, and plenty of spare parts unless the grip frame cracks. :) :) :)

One ‘feeling’ comment. I brought some Speer Gold Dot 124+p today, and it occurs to me I didn’t really notice it ‘popped’ like I recall with my P365XL. In fact I switched to 124 HST for last years carry ammo order. I had the GD left from my G19, maybe a box total in my locker.

I‘ll shoot some more when my Glock mags get here, maybe benched, but I may go back to the Speer for carry. I was always pretty confident it would do the job.

Also, I’m mulling over holster choices. As a lefty I typically don’t hold on to holsters that end up in the holster box. And of course like an idiot I sold all my Glock double stack holsters…grrr.

So if anyone has a suggestion for 1) a kydex IWB for strong side as well as 2) an AIWB you like for the RXM, let me know.

My area is south of this, in west central WV. Might only see some freezing rain, then rain. Snow predicted east in the mountains, and they may see a lot.

Meanwhile, this is the look of the Sig Romeo Zero on the RXM. On the 365XL it looks normal. On the full size RXM, it's small.

I bought one and really liked it
It had the lightest trigger pull I've tried of any striker fired auto to this day.
My brother wanted it and still has it
I thought I'll just buy another one
One day but they stopped production of them.

Dittos on that! Big fan here as well.
I have a SR 9E, daughter has a SR9c son-in-law has a SR9. They travel well with our Ruger PCC9's. We love them. Decided to keep them several years ago. Good range fun and reliable enough to provide many tasks. (I also LOVE the SR45)
*Going back to DA/SA but keeping the SR series.
Clear skies to you.

When I first got mine , I hadn’t fired a handgun in 30 years . I outshot everybody at the range . I couldn’t believe it . The FFL and instructor that owned the range couldn’t believe it either . Then we went up on this small ridge and there was a 4” branch in the middle of a dirt road a good hundred yards out . He said “can you hit that branch ?”. Bang ! I hit it and knocked it down the road a bit . He said , “do it again” and Bang ! I hit it again . And a third time . At that point this guy that thought by pre judging me was jaw dropped . I was just smiling my ass off . A few weeks later , the whole mountain knew me as “Crackshot Dave” .
😆
It’s not me ! It’s that gun !
I want a couple more of them .
😆
I love that pistol . As soon as I picked it up and the store , I knew . I was like a part of my hand .
Mines the plain old black model .
