Looking for suggestions on a holster for my 3" Wiley Clapp Hawkeye GP100.

I want leather, thumb break, OWB, belt type, one that rides high for conceal ability, and I want it all for around $50 or less.....

Also please post pics if ya got em.

Thanks.

Trigg there are a few options you can do, one might be to look for a 4 inch holster in a thumb break for a GP100. Then use a razor knife to cut the holster down & burnish the edges so it looks nice then if necessary take the holster to the shoe store to have any edges resewn. One place to go is to go back to shop Ruger see if they have a 3 inch version holster of what you want for your Wiley Clapp if not then try buying the 4 inch holster and modify it as you want. At least to stay under the $50.00 mark I think that Triple K makes the holsters and their quality is good. I bought a holster similar at Cabela's a few years back a nice basic holster it was for a 4 inch S&W K frame and the fit and quality is quite good I paid about $32.00 for it I think the same holster is around $40.00 now. Its harder to find exactly what you need another source is Tagua they are out of South America and the quality is very good I lucked out found a nice used one a thumb break for my 3 inch SP101 the fit is perfect and doesn't lack in fit & finish at all. Good Luck!

For about $60 you can have one handmade for your GP at Craft Holsters. Superb quality, surprisingly inexpensive, only problem is you need to have a couple of months to spare. If you can bear to wait, you won't be disappointed. Each leather holster is wet-formed to each gun. I have one for my HK P30L and it fits like a glove. craftholsters.com

Thanks for the suggestions.

Has anybody out there tried the Bianchi 5 Black Widow holster with their 3" GP?

It looks to be pretty much what I'm looking for, but I don't have any experience with it....

I've had a Bianchi Black Widow for my 4" fixed-sight GP100 (.357) but didn't use it all that much as I have a Bianchi #7 3-slot, OWB holster for it as well. I ended up selling the #5 and keeping the #7 I liked it so much! But, then again, I was CCing a 4" barrel, not a 3" barrel.

Also, check out Ross Leather's Model #19 3-slot, OWB, snap holster! I have one for my Alaskan and it makes the beast feel as if it's 1/2 the weight when I wear it around (mainly, to and from the range.) They're a little higher priced, but well worth it!

Triple K Holsters makes some nice stuff too...check out their 'match' for the Bianchi #5: http://www.triplek.com/Products/id/38/grp/409/prd/1434/

I have the Bianchi #7, 3-slot holster for my 4" GP100, my 2.25" SP101, my Ruger P97DAO, etc...if that tells you anything? I have Old World Leather for my Glocks (bought 'em from an FFL who had 'em in a box in the back...great leather but out of production stuff), but if I didn't, I would have the Bianchi's for the Glock's too!

I had Galco for a while...ended up going back to the Bianchi for recent stuff...just a better fit (for the gun and for me) personally.

Trigg DeSantis is not too bad of brand holsters. I guess good bang for the buck! My only ? is this holster says made for a Colt Python. Have you tried doing a Google online search for your gun? The holster you put the link on looks nice. For as nice of a gun that you have you might want to spend more. Check out Mernickle brand of holster's this guy does beautiful work. Good luck there bud on finding a holster.

Yeah the title is a bit confusing. They have one for the 3"GP as well, which is what I'd be going after. I'll also give Mernickle a look.

Mernickle is a very nice holster I have one IWB for my 1911. I also did a search on The Holster Store.com for a 3 inch Barreled GP100 & they show a holster from what you are wanting it was roughly $59.00 Galco is another brand thats very good as well.
